As this year/semester slowly comes to a close, it is always good to take some time to reflect on the year. With summer approaching, it gets difficult to remember to think about your previous year and school semester. Asking yourself things like “what went wrong?” or “what should I do next semester to get higher grades?” can be beneficial when thinking about the future. Maybe the things you ask yourself won’t be so specific, but it is always good to take a look back at the year.

Although the school year is coming a close, here are a few things to think about for your next semester.

1. How to be happier.

When at college, it is easy to get into a repetitive routine everyday. Seemingly doing the same thing everyday can sometimes lead to unhappiness or boredom within your life, and that needs to change. Think about how to spice things up in your life during the next school year. Do homework in different places, go explore, go outside more … anything to make you a little happier.

2. How to be more productive.

Take a look at your previous semester and make some goals for the next time that you come back. Think of things that you slacked off with in school, and then try to think of some simple solutions to being more productive. This will benefit you in the long run, and make next semester a successful one!

3. How you can study better.

Like #2, making some school-related goals for next semester will overall improve your school year. Take a look at some of your study habits, and determine what you can improve within them. Learn how to study best, and take some time to establish some specific and achievable goals for your studying plan.

4. How to get the most out of the college experience.

For next semester, really think about how you can get the most out of the college experience, and from your college in general. Look into joining clubs, getting more involved, and also try to find some cool places around your campus to explore. Doing this will overall help you to embrace the college experience, and will make you more aware of how lucky you are to be here!

So although the excitement of summer is pretty overwhelming right now, just remember to always keep thinking about how to improve your ways for next semester.
